CT Chapter Meeting Minutes

Present: Phil Schneider, Rich Heritage, Dick Naramore, Will Mraz, Tina Crispens, Gary Bauer, Al DiVincentis
Meeting called to order at 6:55pm
· Youth Leadership Conference
o Discussion of meeting decisions and action items
§ Learn to Play – find trainers and promote program
§ Umpire Training – provide support to promote training and locate on-field training sites
· LOAs need to report back to Chapter about funding
· CT Chapter can post umpire training opportunities and email high school coaches with information
§ Grant Exposure – increase awareness through emails and website. Ensure LLO know about grant opportunities
§ Corporate Partnership – continue to investigate and develop partnerships to help to grow the game of lacrosse in CT
· Hall of Fame
o Ideas for fundraising for Silent Auction – gift baskets from youth organizations
o Send pictures of HoF ceremony to US Lacrosse National
o Hall of Fame Procedures to be updated on CT Lacrosse website
§ Deadline for nominations is February 15th
· Coaches Education Programs
o North Branford Level 1 – 46 coaches (25 men and 21 women)
o Cheshire Level 2 – Saturday – numbers are low at this point. Email reminder has been sent
o Stamford Level 2 – hosting agreement has been submitted
o Waterford Level 1 and Vernon Level 1 – possible sites
o Learn to Play Clinics
§ Trainers will be trained at USL Convention in Baltimore
§ 5 Trainers have been identified
§ Scheduling Learn to Play clinics after convention
· Middletown and Bridgeport have expressed interest
· Positive Coaching Alliance – no discussion or action on this item
· CT Chapter Youth Coaches Clinic
o Check on availability of Albertus Magnus College again this year
o Check calendar for Spring Break dates – either March 12 or 13
o Ideas for speakers
§ Asked group to generate ideas and email to Phil
§ Try to find coaches who have a regional connection to draw more coaches from an area.
· CT Chapter Grant Applications
o Two grant applications being considered – Cromwell Youth Lacrosse & Chapter 126
o Next grant applications are due by January 31, 2016
· CT Chapter Meetings
o January Meeting – Call to Action for Board Members and Volunteers (Board Elections)
o February – Chapter 126 in Bristol has expressed an interest
· Other
o Will Mraz will get in touch with Hall Neighborhood House in Bridgeport to see if Univ. of Bridgeport and/or Fairfield University women’s players can work with Soft Stick Program
o Gary Bauer reports that Stratford Youth Lacrosse is in need of field space. Some fields have been taken away from them.

o Post umpire training dates on CT Chapter website
o Find locations for Learn to Play clinics
o Schedule Youth Lacrosse Coaches Clinic at Albertus Magnus
o Confirm dates and locations for future Chapter meetings
