To Whom It May Concern:
 
Our girls’ lacrosse coach, coach’s name, has indicated that the following players – player 1, player 2, player 3, player 4, player 5 and goalie – will be invited to participate in a tryout for the USLacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament.  USLacrosse, the national governing body of lacrosse in the United States, sponsors this event.  These girls and their parents would like for them to have this opportunity.  Likewise, school name would like to support them in this effort.
 
To ensure that these student athletes are able to participate in this tryout and tournament, and to maintain their CIAC eligibility for the spring 2019 season, I am formally requesting that the CIAC Board of Control grant them permission to participate.  It is my understanding that the CIAC bylaws allow “an athlete participating in any CIAC-sponsored sport the opportunity, if selected by the national governing body regulating the sport, to participate in an NGB-sponsored national or international competition during the sports season.”
 
I further understand and guarantee that, if any of these girls are selected, they will abide by the current CIAC weekly game limitations for girls’ lacrosse and will not miss any of their high school team’s scheduled lacrosse games.  The tryouts and practices are held on Sundays, and the National Tournament is held over Memorial Day Weekend.
 
My sincere thanks and appreciation is extended to the Board of Control for its support of players offered this opportunity.  I look forward to hearing from you regarding our players’ participation.
